Roblox Corp (RBLX)

SEC filings, insider trading & institutional ownership from EDGAR.

Roblox operates an immersive gaming and creation platform that invites its community to explore, create, and share user-generated experiences. Its stated mission is to connect a billion users with optimism and civility. Growth has been driven by heavy technology investment and two reinforcing network effects: creators build content that attracts users, and users invite friends, which makes the Platform more engaging and attractive to more creators.

The Roblox Platform has three elements. The Roblox Client is the free application for exploring experiences. It runs on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, Chromebook and select VR hardware. Roblox Studio is the free toolset for building, publishing and operating experiences, with the Luau scripting language and AI tools such as Assistant, Code Assist, Material Generator, Avatar Auto-Setup and the generative 3D/4D system Roblox Cube. Roblox Cloud is the services and infrastructure behind both. Other offerings include the avatar system and Avatar Editor, the Marketplace for avatar items, the Creator Store for models, plugins, audio and other assets, Roblox Open Cloud APIs, social features (Party, private servers, Moments, text chat, and proximity voice chat for age-checked users 13 and over), and safety systems. Those safety systems include AI-powered moderation, age checks (mandatory for chat in all chat-enabled regions since January 2026), parental controls and Content Maturity Labels. Several safety models have been open-sourced. Roblox earns revenue as it retains a portion of every Robux transaction, with the rest going to creators.

In 2025 the Platform had 127 million average daily active users across over 180 countries, about 1.8 million of them daily unique paying users. Users spent 123.9 billion hours on the Platform, averaging 2.7 hours per DAU per day. They are diverse in age, geography, platform and gender, and a large number are children. Millions of creators in more than 170 countries, from hobbyists to full-time studios, built over 14 million active experiences. Creators earn Robux through in-experience purchases, the Creator Rewards Program (launched July 2025, replacing Engagement-Based Payouts), advertising, IP licensing via the License Manager, avatar item sales and plugin sales. Through the Developer Exchange Program, over 23,500 creators were paid in fiat currency in 2025, and over 35,500 were registered as of year-end.

Roblox hosts most Cloud services in its own managed data centers, with 25 regional data centers across North America, South America, Asia-Pacific and Europe and over 150,000 servers as of December 31, 2025. It uses Amazon Web Services for some databases, object storage, message queuing and peak bursting, and is expanding GPU capacity for AI in owned and public cloud environments. Its data centers are linked by a dedicated backbone network, and assets are delivered through content delivery networks. As of December 31, 2025, 75% of employees were dedicated to maintaining, improving and expanding the Platform. Roblox works with regulators and child-safety organizations and designs the Platform to comply with laws such as COPPA, GDPR and NIS2.

Latest 10-Q takeaways

filed Oct 29, 2026

The tone is mixed and largely factual: revenue, Adjusted EBITDA, free cash flow and liquidity are up, but bookings fell year over year in the quarter, paying users declined, safety changes are hurting engagement, and legal settlements are rising. Management states its spending and buyback plans with assurance but hedges on user trends, regulation and monetization. Automated screens flagged 1 potential red flag.
