QXO, Inc., formerly SilverSun Technologies, was created to build a tech-forward leader in the roughly $800 billion building products distribution sector. It was previously a technology solutions and professional services company serving small and mid-size businesses. On April 29, 2025, it acquired Beacon Roofing Supply, now renamed QXO Building Products, Inc., and transitioned to building products distribution. QXO describes itself as the largest publicly-traded distributor of roofing, waterproofing and complementary building products in North America. Its strategy targets $50 billion in annual revenue within a decade through acquisitions, organic growth including greenfield openings, and operational transformation of acquired businesses, using technology and AI-led tools.

QXO Building Products offers exterior building products across residential, non-residential and complementary categories. Asphalt shingles are the largest residential product group. Single-ply membranes, insulation and accessories lead in non-residential. Waterproofing, siding, plywood/OSB, and windows and doors lead in complementary products. It also sells a private label brand, TRI-BUILT®. Its sales force provides value-added services such as project guidance, training and technical support. In January 2026, QXO secured a commitment of up to $3.0 billion of Series C Convertible Perpetual Preferred Stock from Apollo-managed investors to fund qualifying acquisitions, and raised $749.4 million in net proceeds from a common stock offering. On February 10, 2026, it agreed to acquire Kodiak Building Partners for about $2.25 billion, expected to close early in the second quarter of 2026.

Customers include professional contractors, home builders, building owners, lumberyards and retailers in the U.S. and Canada, ranging from small contractors to national builders. QXO Building Products serves over 110,000 customers, and no single customer exceeded 1% of net sales in 2025. The company estimates the U.S. and Canadian roofing and complementary products distribution market at about $65 billion. Roughly 80% of roofing industry revenue comes from repair and re-roofing, and the rest from new construction. Demand is seasonal and weather-dependent, with the strongest quarters ending June 30, September 30 and December 31.

QXO Building Products has served the building industry for over 95 years and operates about 600 branches across all 50 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces. It had 7,794 active employees at December 31, 2025, 320 of them represented by unions. Manufacturers ship primarily to branches and also directly to customers. Procurement is managed through the national headquarters, regional offices and local branches. Major suppliers include Owens Corning, GAF, Carlisle Construction Materials, CertainTeed, IKO, TAMKO, Johns Manville, James Hardie, Dow and Sika USA. Competitors include national, regional and local specialty distributors and big box retailers, in an industry with over 7,000 distributors in North America. The company's website is www.qxo.com.
