POOL CORP (POOL)
SEC filings, insider trading & institutional ownership from EDGAR.
Pool Corporation, a member of the S&P 500 Index, is the world's largest wholesale distributor of swimming pool supplies, equipment and related leisure products, and one of the leading distributors of irrigation and landscape maintenance products in the United States. It buys products from a large number of manufacturers and distributes them with high levels of customer service, on terms generally more favorable than its customers could obtain on their own, in a fragmented industry. As of December 31, 2025, it operated 456 sales centers in North America, Europe and Australia.
The company sells swimming pool supplies, equipment and related leisure products, irrigation and landscape maintenance products, and hardscapes, tile and stone products. Its offerings include pool chemicals (including proprietary-branded lines), pumps, heaters, filters, lights, safety equipment, automation and control products, robotic cleaners, LED lighting, landscape power equipment, and organic fertilizers and pesticides. It distributes through five networks: SCP Distributors, Superior Pool Products, Horizon Distributors, National Pool Trends (formerly National Pool Tile until November 2025) and Sun Wholesale Supply. It also provides digital tools, including the POOL360 B2B platform, POOL360 WaterTest and PoolService, Horizon 24/7, the BlueStreak mobile ordering platform and the EDGE Marketing Portal.
Its customers include pool builders, pool service companies, retail stores, commercial pool operators and landscape contractors. The company serves an industry with more than 14.0 million swimming pools and hot tubs in the United States, including about 5.5 million in-ground pools. In 2025, roughly 64% of pool-related sales came from recurring maintenance and minor repair, 22% from remodeling, renovation and upgrades, and 14% from new pool construction. Its irrigation and landscape business serves residential and commercial markets, mostly residential, and is primarily focused on the Sunbelt. Demand is influenced by housing trends, consumer credit, consumer confidence and general economic conditions. The company estimates new in-ground pool construction fell to just below 60,000 units in 2025 from 62,000 in 2024.
Pool operates through market-based sales centers and has grown its networks through new openings, acquisitions and expansion of existing centers. It generally passes industry price increases through its supply chain and sometimes buys inventory in volume ahead of vendor price increases. Product cost inflation was about 2% to 3% in 2025, including about 1% from U.S. tariffs. Its strategy is to promote industry growth, support its customers' businesses through marketing, training and business-support programs, and operate more effectively through technology and capacity creation.
