Navitas Semiconductor Corp (NVTS)
SEC filings, insider trading & institutional ownership from EDGAR.
Navitas Semiconductor Corporation designs, develops and markets next-generation power semiconductors, including gallium nitride (GaN) power integrated circuits, high-voltage silicon carbide (SiC) devices, associated high-speed silicon system controllers, and digital isolators used in power conversion and charging. Its products use wide bandgap materials to deliver higher efficiency, power density and thermal performance and smaller system size compared with legacy silicon technologies. The company was founded in 2014 as Legacy Navitas, became public through a business combination with Live Oak Acquisition Corp. II in October 2021, and acquired GeneSiC Semiconductor in August 2022. In late 2025 it announced a strategic pivot, "Navitas 2.0," shifting focus to high-power markets and away from mobile and consumer products.
Its portfolio is marketed under the GaNFast brand for GaN power ICs and the GeneSiC brand for SiC MOSFETs and diodes, the latter using a patented trench-assisted planar technology for voltages up to 6.5kV. The company also supplies a GaN IC process design kit to speed customer implementation. It has shipped over 300 million GaN devices and nearly 30 million SiC devices as of December 31, 2025, and holds more than 300 issued or pending patents, including a broad patent cross-license with Infineon entered in October 2024. It has deliberately excluded electric vehicles and low-voltage SiC from its target market.
Navitas targets four priority end markets: AI data centers, energy and grid infrastructure (including solid state transformers and 800 VDC architectures), performance computing such as high-power chargers for high-end computers, and industrial electrification such as motor inverters and handheld appliances. It sells through a direct sales team and select global distribution partners, and works with hyperscalers, GPU vendors, Tier-1 OEMs and ODMs, and platform providers, supported by design centers and application support. It has de-emphasized mobile charging, low-end consumer electronics and China-based segments.
Navitas operates a fabless model, outsourcing wafer fabrication, assembly and testing. GaN wafers are made by TSMC in Taiwan and GlobalFoundries in the United States, with two additional fabs in Asia supporting GaN and CMOS technologies. SiC products are made in the United States by X-Fab. Assembly and test subcontractors are primarily in Asia, and epitaxial wafers and substrates come from multiple suppliers in the United States and Asia. Competitors include Infineon, Power Integrations, Texas Instruments, Innoscience, Renesas and EPC in GaN; Infineon, Wolfspeed, ON Semiconductor, ROHM, Qorvo and STMicroelectronics in SiC; and silicon incumbents such as Infineon, STMicroelectronics, ON Semiconductor and Power Integrations. The company has about 190 employees and operations in the United States, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Belgium, China, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea and the Philippines. Its headquarters are in Torrance, California, with satellite offices in Santa Clara and Irvine.
