Bentley Systems is an infrastructure engineering software company, founded in 1984 by the Bentley brothers and publicly listed through an initial public offering completed on September 25, 2020. Bentley Asset Analytics provides AI-powered monitoring and analysis products such as Blyncsy, LEGION and Talon. These products run on the Cesium and iTwin Platform, a cloud-native platform for creating infrastructure digital twins, which was expanded by the September 2024 acquisition of Cesium. Discrete iTwin products cover reality capture, visualization and IoT sensor data. The company is also embedding AI across its products, for example through the Bentley Copilot assistant.

Its users are engineering firms, contractors and infrastructure owner-operators, plus a developer ecosystem built on the Cesium and iTwin platform. By share of sector-attributable annualized recurring revenues, Public Works/Utilities accounts for about 59%, Resources 27%, Industrial 9% and Commercial/Facilities 5%. The software is offered in most major languages and supports country-specific design codes, so it is used globally. Bentley sells through several licensing and subscription models. The Enterprise 365 subscription is a consumption-based plan with uniform global pricing and requires a Cloud Services Subscription. Perpetual licenses come with SELECT maintenance subscriptions, and a 12-month named-user subscription is sold through the Virtuosity e-store, mainly to small and medium-sized businesses. At the end of 2025, accounts representing about 60% of total ARR had adopted commercial models eligible under the Cloud Services Subscription.

On operations, Bentley's development teams are globally dispersed, partly because of acquisitions in various countries and partly to localize its applications.
