Amphenol Corporation is one of the world's largest designers, manufacturers and marketers of electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors and interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and sensor-based products, and coaxial, high-speed, fiber optic and specialty cable. The company estimates worldwide sales of interconnect, value-add cable assembly, antenna, cable and sensor-related products were approximately $500 billion in 2025. Predecessor businesses were founded in 1932, the company was incorporated in Delaware in 1986, and its Class A Common Stock has traded on the New York Stock Exchange since 1991.

Amphenol reports three segments. Communications Solutions (52% of 2025 net sales) makes high-speed, radio frequency, power and fiber optic interconnect products, cable assemblies and harnesses, consumer device and network infrastructure antennas, coaxial, fiber optic, power and specialty cable, hinges and other mechanical products. Harsh Environment Solutions (26%) makes ruggedized data, power, fiber optic and radio frequency interconnect products, backplane interconnect systems, cable assemblies, cable management products, specialty cable, and flexible and rigid printed circuit boards. Interconnect and Sensor Systems (22%) makes busbars and power distribution systems, power interconnect products, backplane systems, cable assemblies, and sensors and sensor-based products for force, gas and moisture, level, position, pressure, temperature and vibration.

The company serves automotive, commercial aerospace, communications networks, defense, industrial, information technology and data communications, and mobile device markets. In 2025, automotive represented about 15% of net sales (applications include electric and hybrid vehicles, charging stations, sensing, safety, telematics and infotainment), commercial aerospace about 5% (avionics, power distribution, in-flight entertainment and connectivity, engines) and communications networks about 10% (base stations, antenna systems, small cells, distributed antenna systems, 5G networks). In defense, it supplies high-performance interconnect systems for harsh environment aerospace and defense applications, from specification connectors to printed circuit boards, backplane systems, integrated assemblies and sensors.

Amphenol's strategy emphasizes market diversification, close design-stage work with customers on high-value solutions, an expanding global footprint with low-cost manufacturing and assembly facilities around the world, cost control, and strategic acquisitions in a fragmented industry. It invested about $3.8 billion in five acquisitions in 2025, including the Andrew outdoor wireless networks and distributed antenna systems businesses from Vistance Networks (formerly CommScope). In January 2026 it completed the roughly $10.5 billion acquisition of Vistance's Connectivity and Cable Solutions business, its largest ever, adding fiber optic interconnect and building infrastructure connectivity capabilities. Operations are run through a flat, entrepreneurial structure in which general managers have income statement and balance sheet responsibility, and each of the three segment managers reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
